JTAG means that your basically ressurecting your receiver.Basically you will need a wire (usually rs-232 wire) to connect from your computer to ur receiver. After that is done you will need to upload a bin to your receiver from your computer. All of this can be found at dsscentral.netJust pinpoint your receiver and download the necessary software. They also have a Help Chat section that does support your receiver so they would be more than happy to help you out.The cable that you will need should cost about 5-10dollars the most.
The programs and everything else is free. Also you can find out how to JTAG your receiver from dsscentral. But I will tell you.JTAG is a really pain in the @ss process. If you need immediate help come here or just go to the help section at dsscentral.Out of curiousity.how much did the guy charge and at first for the receiver? And how much is he charging you to reprogram it? Posted on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 - 20:07 GMTlol $30 is nothing compared to here.they charge up to $200 here.first off.go into your settings and find out receiver information. Let me know what bin you currently have in ur receiver. And you can forget everything about JTAG that I said on top coz its not necessary at all right now.And what do you mean stuck on the search mode?
Can you not go into menu/settings/epg??? If thats so then do a simple reboot from the back of your receiver.Turn the power off from the bak of the receiver for about a minute or so and see what you get.Plz explain more about your problem.
